According to Bay Windows,
BAGLY is also honoring Lexington C.A.R.E.S., a group of Lexington parents and community members who have spent the last two years publicly opposing the efforts of a pair of Lexington families and the anti-gay group MassResistance to remove LGBT-inclusive materials from the town's schools. [BAGLY executive director Grace Sterling] Stowell said their message that the people of Lexington support discussions of LGBT families in the schools helped back up the school's pro-LGBT stance.
"They provided the support to help the school do the right thing," said Stowell.
On June 14, MassResistance issued a press release about a playground incident. Many news outlets repeated or even added to the allegations in this press release without checking facts.
David Parker, Tonia Parker, Joseph Robert Wirthlin, and Robin Wirthlin filed federal lawsuit against the Town of Lexington and some administrators and faculty.
